There's no shortage of people with a passion for ponies. It seems horses and ponies become a lifelong love for many and Apollo Stables has a wide range of ages that enjoy a trot or canter around the site and countryside of Lakenheath.
At Apollo Stables Riding School we teach adults and children from the age of four how to ride. As a British Horse Society approved school we a offer a high level of safety along with proper and correct instruction for all. Health & Safety in the presence of horses is intilled in all from the very beginning.
For children our Schoolmaster ponies are perfect for children and
have been in the hands of the stable owners for many years.
Miss Bud, as she is known around the yard, takes pride in many aspects of Apollo Stables. She and her husband Barry first bought Apollo back in 1990 and has loved him ever since. Part of the family. First the mount of Zoe their first daughter and then onto Emma.
Bud supported Zoe Emma and Jamie all at local Pony Club and local competitions. Being the dedicated horse carer, horsebox driver and school master at the Tack and Turnout competitions that both Zoe and Emma won with Apollo under Buds watchful eye! Miss Bud is all about high standards and attention to detail. Bud now supports both her grandaughters in the sport of riding.
Emma and Bud successfully completed the local Suffolk Hunt Pony Club and Worlington Riding Club circuit with Bud acting as Team Manager to the Worlingtons Junior Area 14 Riding Club Teams after Bob Shepherd for a few successful years.
While Emma was away training and at College Bud held the fort looking after the horses for Emma and stood beside her as Apollo Stables was in the pipeline.
Apollo Stables opened in 2001 officially and as the business grew Emma needed Bud more and more as the business quadrupled over night.
So, Bud joined the Apollo team as a business partner, and has since been a driving force in all areas from admin' to judging.
Apollo Stables is our way of life... a passion for all of us.
